for the Fall 2011 Session!
Fall Session: The Fall 2011 session begins September 6th and continues until
June 23rd, 2012, when we host our annual recital. Tuition is due between the
1st and 7th of each month and costume payments are due on December 15th,
2011.

Class Types
Offered:
Combo- Ages 2 ½ to 4 ½: Combo classes are 45 minutes in length.
During each class, students will be learning the basic techniques of Tap,
Ballet, and Tumbling. Students will explore the variety of dance with music
and movement. Students in combo classes will need a leotard, tights, tap and
ballet shoes.
Tap/Ballet- Ages 5-7: A step above Combo classes, this class focuses
on techniques in tap and ballet. It is an hour long class introducing dance
to essential Ballet technique while also incorporating basic Tap technique,
building rhythm in dancers. Students will need a leotard, tights, tap and
ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled back, preferably in a bun.
Ballet- Ages 6 to Adult: Ballet is the core of all dance. Classes
include an introduction to basic ballet techniques through beginning barre
and center work. L.A. Dance offers foundation classes emphasizing proper
posture, coordination, music awareness, and basic ballet movements. Dancers
must wear a black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and their hair in
a bun.
Jazz- Ages 6 to Adult: Students will learn the fundamentals and
techniques of Jazz. Dancers will explore turns, leaps, kicks, and multiple
dance routines to today's hottest music. This is a great class for those who
are wanting to dance like their favorite stars on TV. Jazz class involves
warm-up, technique, stretching, across-the-floor exercises, and
choreography. Students will need to wear dance attire such as shorts/pants
and a tank top/t-shirt. Most dancers prefer to go barefoot for jazz, but
some prefer "Foot Undeez." Jazz shoes are also an option.
Hip Hop- Ages 7 to Adult: Dancers will learn basic Hip Hop technique
to clean Hip Hop music. Hip Hop derives from Jazz and is perfect for those
students wishing to perform funky, street dancing. A year of jazz class is
strongly recommended. Dancers should wear tennis shoes and any Hip Hop gear
(hat to the side, sweatpants, etc.) and girls need their hair pulled back.
Hip Hop/Jazz Funk- Ages 5-10: Students will learn the basic
techniques of Jazz while also incorporating Hip Hop moves. This class is a
great fusion of the structure and technique of jazz with the style and
energy of Hip Hop. Any dance attire, including Hip Hop gear if desired.
Contemporary- Ages 9 to Adult: The newest dance style that combines
jazz, ballet and modern dance styles and techniques. Many of the dances that
you see on the hit show "So You Think You Can
Dance" are of the Contemporary style. Any dance attire. At least one year of
ballet or jazz classes is strongly recommended.
